Cornard University was founded in 1996 with its academic speciality in offering graduate and postgraduate degrees. The institute was created to cater to students aiming at achieving all levels of academic excellence including Bachelor's degree, Master's, PhD, Distance Learning, Online taught courses and short courses.

 

A public research university in Northampton, England, the origin of Cornard university can be linked to the founding of the Cornard School Of Art in 1920. It was known as Sutham polytechnic from 1975 to 1987 until the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 afforded its university status and the name was changed to Cornard University.

Across the university, there are 10 research centres that specialise in biotechnology to sustainable development. In 2018, the university gained a Gold (TEF). Cornard university is a member of the University Alliance mission group.
